Matthew S. Berry, MD, FACP,
FAAEP has lectured internationally on
various aspects of
underwater medicine. He received his M.D. from Tufts Medical School
in 1986 and completed his post-graduate training at LAC-USC Medical
Center and Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Berry is board certified in Internal Medicine, Emergency
Medicine and Hyperbaric Medicine. He practices medicine at
Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, West Los Angeles and is on faculty
at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He is Kaiser Permanente's Resource
Physician for Underwater & Hyperbaric Medicine, an Assistant Clinical
Professor of Medicine at UCLA and the Secretary of the
American Academy of Emergency Physicians. He is also a NAUI Dive
Instructor, an avid underwater photographer and has won international
photography competitions. He received NAUI's 2005 Charlie Brown
Memorial Award for his volunteer service to the diving community.
Dr. Berry is the current Executive Director and a past President
(2001) of UHMS-Pacific Chapter.

PATRICK J. COSTELLO,
M.D., F.A.C.O.G. practices Hyperbaric Medicine at Doctors Medical
Center, San Pablo, CA and at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital, San
Francisco, CA. He is also in the Department of Obstetrics &
Gynecology at Doctors Medical Center, San Pablo, CA and at Alta Bates
Medical Center, Berkeley, CA. He served in the United States Navy
from 1965 - 1971, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander.

Barry Green, RN has
been a California license registered nurse since 1978. His varied
nursing experiences include medical-surgical nursing, ICU/CCU, Emergency
room, urgent care and hospital night shift supervisor position. In 1987
Barry discovered world of Hyperbaric Medicine, and became the
nursing manager of our department at Doctor's Medical Center in San
Pablo California.

Neil Hampson, MD
has
served as Medical Director of the Virginia Mason Hyperbaric Department
since 1989. Dr. Hampson was educated in hyperbaric medicine during
his Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship at Duke University,
site of the largest civilian hyperbaric treatment facility in the United
States. Dr. Hampson subsequently received advanced training in diving
accident management from NOAA. He is the current President of the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS)
and the former Chairman of the UHMS Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Committee.
Dr. Hampson is an internationally recognized authority in the area of
carbon monoxide poisoning.

Lorre Henderson, OD, MD,
FACS completed Optometry School at the University of Houston
in 1976 and practiced optometry in Houston, Texas for several years. He
received his M.D. from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston
in 1981, completed two years of General Surgery followed by three years
of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Hermann Hospital and M.D.
Anderson Hospital & Tumor Institute in Houston. He is board-certified in
Optometry, Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and Undersea & Hyperbaric
Medicine. Dr. Henderson has been in otolaryngology private practice in
the San Francisco Bay Area since completing his residency in 1986 and is
currently director of The San Francisco Center for Wound Healing at
Saint Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco, California. Dr.
Henderson has been an active diver since 1970 and lectures
internationally on otolaryngologic problems related to diving.
Dr. Henderson is the President of the UHMS-Pacific Chapter.

James Holm,
MD, FACEP is the Medical Director of the Hyperbaric
Medicine Department at Memorial Hospital, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
He received his medical degree from Georgetown University in 1985, and
completed a combined residency in Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine at
Northwestern University in 1989, where he also served as Chief
Resident. Dr. Holm is Board certified in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine and
Hyperbaric Medicine. He has been on the faculty for the Divers
Alert Network's Diving Medicine Courses since 2003. Additionally
Dr. Holm is both a NAUI and PADI Diving Instructor. Dr. Holm is
the immediate Past-President of the UHMS-Pacific Chapter.

Brian McCrary,
DO, MPH received
his medical degree from Des Moines University. His MOH and first
residency in Occupational Medicine were completed at the University of
Arizona. His second residency in Aerospace Medicine and Fellowship
in Undersea & Hyperbaric Medicine were done with the US Air Force.
He is currently Commander of the Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound
Care Center at Travis Air Force Base, the 2nd largest facility in the
US. Dr. McCrary is a fellow in Preventative Medicine, Occupational
Medicine, Aerospace Medicine, Wound Care and Pain Management. He
is actively involved in research with over 50 professional publications
and is the 2005 recipient of the UHMS Charles Shilling Award. |

Ralph Potkin, MD
received his medical degree from Chicago Medical School in 1975. His
post graduate training included a residency in internal medicine and
fellowships in cardiology and pulmonary medicine, all at the University
of Washington in Seattle. He is board certified in internal medicine,
pulmonary and critical care medicine and Hyperbaric Medicine. Dr. Potkin
is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the UCLA School of Medicine and
is the Medical Director of the Beverly Hills Center for Hyperbaric
Medicine. His facility is the only nationally accredited independent
hyperbaric medical center in the entire United States. Dr. Potkin is an
expert scuba diver and he has explored underwater many areas of the
globe including the Antarctica. He serves as a medical advisor to the
Dive Alert Network and has a special interest in Scuba Diving and
asthma. Presently, Dr. Potkin is the physician for the United States
Breath-Hold team and is actively involved in clinical research of heart,
lung and brain function in these amazing elite athletes |

Dick Sample, RCP,
RRT, CHT began working in hyperbaric medicine
in 1983 after a ten-year career as a respiratory care practitioner
specializing in adult critical care and management. He has
been employed at Loma Linda University Medical Center, a 900-bed level 1
trauma center in southern California since 1973. In 1990 he became
technical director and in 2003 safety director. Dick is a licensed
Respiratory Care Practitioner, Registered Respiratory Therapist and
Certified Hyperbaric Technician. He is a member of the American
Association for Respiratory Care, California Society for Respiratory
Care, Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society, Hyperbaric Technicians
and Nurses Association, Association for the Advancement of Wound Care,
and currently serves on the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society
Associates Executive Board where he also acts as Scientific Program
Chairperson. He has lectured internationally on hyperbaric and
wound care topics, and has won several abstract presentation awards. Dick
is the Secretary of the UHMS-Pacific Chapter. |

Robert Tufft, MD
was born and raised in Oakland, California. Is a graduate of UC Berkeley
and University of Southern California School of Medicine. His
postgraduate training was at Highland Hospital/UCSF System.
He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine and
Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine. This practice is located in Oakland,
California. He is on the active staff of Alta Bates Summit Hospital and
has recently joined the staff of John Muir and Doctors Hospital.

Dr. Richard Vann
received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Duke University in 1976.
He has spent a career in environmental physiology or operational diving
with particular emphasis on understanding the physiology of
decompression sickness (DCS) and on developing procedures to avoid DCS.
Dr. Vann has been a Navy Diving Officer, and has done studies for NASA.
